With the summer transfer window now the stuff of memories a number of players remain free agents and can still be signed by clubs.

There are a number of familiar faces in the selection drawn up by Sky Sports and although Premier League clubs have already submitted their 25 man squads, for those sides with a space or two left, Southampton proved last year with the signing of Martin Caceres outside of the transfer window that players can still be added.

And arguably some of the players listed could at least still do a job at Championship level if nothing else you would think.

Is there anybody in their selected eleven that would please you if you saw them arrive this month at your stadium as between the eleven they tot up experience of 1,883 Premier League games.

Goalkeeper – Shay Given.

Defence – Jan Kirchoff, Marcin Wasilewski, Sebastien Bassong, Kolo Toure, Joleon Lescott.

Midfield – Joe Ledley, Mathieu Flamini, Youssouf Mulumbu.

Attack – Giuseppe Rossi, Rickie Lambert.

There will be others unattached as well.

  • We can’t afford any of them as we have no money.

I remember AN taking Jem Karacan on trial and then saying he wasn’t ready but then Bolton snapped him up and he has been performing well for them.

I don’t think we should rule out the Free Transfer market some decent players there. This one forward called Holt looks decent for his age 🙂

  • There are some interesting names on this list, some very decent players who still could do a good job at Championship level. What’s surprising is why are they not already snapped up,I guess every player on this list has their own tale to tell.I agree with the above comment, never rule out the chance of a free transfer IF it;s going to benefit the squad however there is no point in adding players just for the sake of it,anyone joining should either be ready to challenge for a starting spot or be one identified for the future.
