Alex Neil has made it clear that there will not be a repeat of the Summer transfer madness with the vast majority of dealings already being completed.

The summer saw a last minute rush to break open the cheque book as it became clear our initial targets (Afobe, Naismith) would not be joining the club ranks.

But with Pinto, Godfrey, Klose and Naismith signed on new contracts, Jarvis signed on a permanent and Bamford on loan it would certainly appear that we’ve learned our lesson.

Neil suggests that he is hoping to conclude the signing of Dartford youngster Ebu Adams but gave little else away in terms of new recruits.

“I don`t think you can never say never in the transfer window, but I would say the majority of our business has been done. Yes, that (Adams) should be done today. It is more of a longer term one, similar to Ben Godfrey, we are trying to plan for further down the line as well. Neither of them is seen as first team players at the moment.’

He also suggested the phone has stopped ringing from clubs eager to prize our assets away, in particular Kyle Lafferty, who is going to find his chances depleted even further with the Bamford deal.

“No, there is nothing to report at the moment. In terms of players leaving it has gone very quiet,” said Neil.

The potential loan to former club F.C.Sion has also broken down with Lafferty deciding he would rather stay in England.

“There was a loan offer available but Kyle decided not to go so it is not something we have completely turned down up to this point as an option.’

The lack of that last piece in the puzzle, one more CB, will leave some fans frustrated – but I think we’ve had a good Jan!
