Another Loan Player Returns, Defender Signs A New Deal And Could There Be A Bundesliga Return? The Norwich City Latest

|

Apologies for being a little late with some of these updates but my day job sometimes gets in the way!

So, what’s been happening at Carrow Road then?

Well, firstly, we have another one of our young lads who was out on-loan having to be recalled due to a lack of game time.

Simon Power has been recalled by the Canaries from his season-long loan with Ross County, having only made four appearances for the Scottish Premier League side, only one of which was in the league, a 3-0 defeat to Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

The 21-year-old winger spent the second half of last season on-loan with FC Dordrecht in Holland and was involved in the Toulon tournament with the highly rated Republic of Ireland U21s last summer.
As we’ve seen with Rocky Bushiri and Louis Thompson, Norwich are quite prepared to recall players to get them more game time if they’re not happy that their young players are being developed to their satisfaction.

In more positive news, U23s central defender, Louis Loma has signed a new contract with City until June 2021. He’s been a regular for the U23s and is a bit of a unit. He is the third young centre-back to recently sign a new contract after Akin Famewo and 17-year-old Andrew Omobamidele, who signed his first professional deal in December.

In a more interesting piece of gossip, involving a senior player, it looks like Dennis Srbeny is a loan target for his former club SC Paderborn 07.

This report from German media outlet, Kicker suggests that Dennis is wanted  by Paderborn manager, Steffen Baumgart to help with Paderborn’s relegation battle – they currently prop up the Bundesliga, having been promoted twice since Srbeny joined Norwich in January 2018.

Does this mean that Adam Idah will stay with Norwich for the rest of the season or does it mean that another forward is incoming and Idah will go out on-loan to the EFL as plenty of speculation suggests?

I wouldn’t expect any moves to be made for young Adam before the weekend’s trip to Manchester United but after that, who knows?
