The delayed results of the player of the season award have been announced…

Sebastien Bassong has been named as the winner of this season’s Player of the season award.

Robert Snodgrass was the runner up with Bradley Johnson taking third place.

Bassong joined City last summer from Spurs for an undisclosed fee, widely thought to make him City’s most expensive ever signing.

Seb has made 35 appearances and scored three goals in his debut season. He has been virtually ever present despite a niggling knee problem and has been the rock at the heart of City’s defence.

Robert Snodgrass, also in his debut season, signed from Leeds United, is the (current) joint top scorer along with Grant Holt on 7 goals.

Bradley Johnson, another of the ex-Leeds contingent, has missed only one league game this term and scored one goal. He continually puts in 100% effort while making a name as a tough, combative midfielder – Michael Laudrup is believed to be a fan.

The presentation of the Barry Butler Memorial Trophy, traditionally done at the last home game of the season, was delayed due to lingering relegation troubles.

I have to say that I whole heartedly agree with the order of the top three, here. Seb has been terrific and he scored some vital goals as well.

Well done lads!
