Bologna have approached Norwich City about the possibility of taking Youssouf Mulumbu on loan for the remainder of the season says Tutto Mercato Web in Italy.
TMW say that Bologna manager, Roberto Donadoni (Italian legend from Italia `90) is looking to further strengthen his squad in this transfer window, having already taken winger Emanuele Giaccherini on loan from Sunderland.
Now the link to Oscar Hiljemark and City`s reported offer for him, could start to make sense. It could be one of those situations that will depend on City signing someone before they let another, in this case Mulumbu, out on loan.
Mulumbu only signed last summer after being released by West Brom and has had a negligible impact on the first team squad at Carrow Road. He broke a metatarsal in the final pre-season game of the season against Brentford and has only appeared a handful of times since. Eyebrows were raised when he only made the bench against Liverpool in Alex Tettey`s absence, as surely he was bought as cover/competition for Tettey.
You have to assume that Mulumbu hasn`t done enough to impress his new manager enough, yet.
Alex Neil does have Gary O`Neil though, who can play the defensive midfield role and he has often played alongside Tettey, as he can pass a bit too.
Four days to go and things are starting to bubble a little.
