Bolton Beat Rivals To Norwich Winger

|

Bolton Wanderers have beaten a couple of their Championship rivals to the loan signing of Norwich City winger, Yanic Wildschut.

Bolton, Wigan and, believe it or not, Ipswich Town have all been heavily linked with the flying Dutch winger as it became clear that he is still not in Daniel Farke’s plans for next season.

The 26 year old was signed from Wigan in January 2016 by Alex Neil but never really settled and after Neil was sacked, Daniel Farke also decided he wasn’t his cup of tea.

Last season, he was in and around the squad for the first six months and was in fine form in the away game at Portman Road, when a surging run helped set up James Maddison for the only goal of the game but that was about as good as it got.

He moved in January to Cardiff on loan but Neil Warnock wasn’t impressed enough to sign him permanently, opting instead to sign Josh Murphy as the Bluebirds mount an attempt to stay in the Premier League.

With Yanic leaving the squad, the funds saved from his wages may well help to fund a move for another winger in the coming days or weeks.

We’ll see.
