Middlesbrough have had a bid for Norwich Winger, Josh Murphy rejected according to Daily Mail journalist, Craig Hope.

Hope used his twitter account @CraigHope_DM to tweet the following on Tuesday evening:

‘Understand Boro have had an offer in region of £4m rejected for Norwich Winger Josh Murphy, brother of Jacob, who will sign for NUFC 2morrow’

So, will City look to cash in on both Murphy twins?

I would expect an uproar if they did. Josh is widely thought to be exactly the same in ability terms as Jacob, it’s just that he hasn’t had the game time to prove it. If he stays, that will almost certainly come next season and we will probably be in the same position next summer.

Assuming there is a will to keep him and I’m hoping there is.

You would imagine that the twins would like to be near each other and a move to the North East for Josh could ease the absence of his brother.

We’ll see.

  • 2 word response to boro !!
May be near his brother but living in that crap hole ( sorry Mrs DG ) would be a step too far.

  • oh and £ 4 million.
I know boro is 10 years behind the times but surely the transfer fees are not.

  • Ion this can’t happen. It seems like we are selling everyone if this happens and replacing with division 2 German lads. No sale. We can’t be left with Jarvis and Wildschut. Team needs improving now.

  • There are no morals in business and this is an example of the lowest crass exploitation you could possibly imagine. Then again the only mention on NEWS NOW is from the Norwich fan sites.

  • While Huddersfield has been promoted with their numerous signings and loan deals, observed that the team also has several ‘average players’ who to be fair to them, played with passion. What we want to avoid is selling our best players and filling up with a lot of average ones.

  • 1) No No No
    2) Not to a Champ side either
    3) Are we being punished for loaning them out and not playing them when they had the talent but the past managers wanted to “protect them”, so they got *****ed off and the loyalty wasnt shown so isnt now?. So much for us wanting to see them play together on a regular basis for us?.
    4) NCFC should state clearly hands off not for sale
