Savvy with a transfer roundup….

City midfielder Jacob Butterfield has joined Championship side Crystal Palace on a one-month loan deal.

Butterfield has only just returned from a loan spell at Bolton. He appeared eight times for the Lancashire side, but with a lot of those appearances from the subs bench. Earlier in the month, Chris Hughton remarked that he was disappointed at the amount of game-time Butterfield experienced throughout his Bolton loan. He will be hoping that Ian Holloway`s 4th placed Crystal Palace will offer the creative midfielder more chances to impress.

In other news, Midlands-based newspaper The Express and Star has reported that new Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Dean Saunders has had Simeon Jackson watched, with a view to making a permanent signing.

Apparently, Head of football development and recruitment Kevin Thelwell watched the 25-year-old in action on Saturday in a goalless draw against Newcastle.

Saunders is thought to be lining up a bid in the region of £1m for Jackson, who many fans feel has not had enough of a chance to impress this season. However £1m would represent a reasonable return on the Canadian international who signed for £600k in August 2010.
