Cantwell Fit But Injury Concerns For Farke Ahead Of Arsenal Test

Todd Cantwell has been passed fit by Daniel Farke ahead of a difficult looking match (aren’t they all) at Arsenal on Wednesday evening. Speaking at his usual pre-match press conference, Norwich City’s Head Coach, Daniel Farke gave a relatively upbeat update on his squad.

It’s been a lot of load for my players” Farke said. “Saturday was our third game in eight days. I had to substitute Lukas Rupp (hip) and Todd Cantwell (abductor). Max Aarons (calf) and Adam Idah (thigh) had issues after the game as well.

“We will have to make a few late decisions. Todd Cantwell is available but there are concerns over Lukas Rupp, Max Aarons and Adam Idah. I’m confident they’ll all be available, they’ll have a last test tomorrow and we will see.”
Moritz Leitner has a hernia problem and will definitely miss the game, although my knowledge of hernias makes me think he could be out for a bit longer, especially if he needs an operation, although key hole surgery means this op doesn’t pose the problems it once did in terms of recovery time.
Timm Klose is suspended meaning we only have one available centre-back again, Ben Godfrey. Farke suggested a couple of outcomes in terms of replacing Timm, perhaps even changing formation.
Farke added: “It’s difficult to find the right solution. Timm has been out for 18 months and the break comes at the right time for him! But it’s a difficult situation in the centre-back position for us.

“We just have one natural centre-back available at the back at the moment. It’s complicated but you have to handle this situation at the moment. Alex Tettey has played this role, Jamal Lewis as well. We could switch formation as well. We will try and find a solution.”
