Todd Cantwell looks set for a rather left field loan to Dutch Second Division club Fortuna Sittard reports HITC Sport

The 19 year old midfielder made his first team debut for City in the second half of the recent FA Cup replay with Chelsea and looks to have a promising future ahead of him in the game. Against the Chelsea internationals, he certainly didn`t look out of place.

With Norwich having a wealth of midfield options at Daniel Farke`s disposal, Todd`s chances of game time with the first team look limited for the remainder of the season.

Fortuna Sittard have moved quickly to enquire about his availability for a loan, something that would be a logical step for a lad looking for experience in the game.

Fortuna currently top the Dutch second division and fancy that Todd can help them achieve promotion back to the top flight.

This would fit the model being used by Webber and Farke and often spoken about. If a young player isn`t ready for the Norwich first team yet, then the idea is to get him out on loan until he is ready. Someone else pays his wages and gives him the first team experience he needs but that perhaps he can`t be afforded at Carrow Road at that time.

  • Strange perhaps. Not good enough for an average 13th placed English second division side. Good enough for the top Dutch second division side.
