Cantwell’s Promotion Success Can Only Help Norwich

|

Young on loan ranger, Todd Cantwell has celebrated helping Fortuna Sittard to promotion into the Dutch Eredivisie, over the weekend.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder joined the then Dutch second division side in January, with his new team in the middle of a promotion challenge and now, after 10 appearances and 2 goals in an injury-hampered spell in Holland, he’s helped Sittard to promotion.

Todd, as is pretty usual these days, has a regular presence on social media. It’s a modern way of connecting with fans and also helps build your ”brand” in the world.

Todd provided a stunning free kick, which was headed in by Finn Stokkers for the only goal of the game as Sittard beat PSV II on Saturday night to clinch promotion. He will be on the open top bus parade on Monday evening, celebrating with his teammates.

Todd also had a few words to say about the legend, Wes Hoolahan.

Todd has been named in the Jupiler League Team of the week on several occasions and it’s fair to say that he has a big reputation with Sittard’s fans. This is a great achievement and will have been an excellent experience for a player who is expected to join the Norwich City first team squad next season and make an impact.

He’s had to deal with Sittard changing their coach just a few weeks after he arrived, a new team/mates and of course, a new country. It looks as though he’s taken all that in his stride.

Could we already have James Maddison’s successor in-house?
