Lazio’s 30 year old French defender, Micahel Ciani looks set to choose Stoke over Norwich City, according to reports in Italy.
The player is in the last year of his contract and available for sale and almost joined Norwich during last January’s transfer window before the move broke down and Chris Hughton opted to loan in Joseph Yobo.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Stoke look set to beat competition from Norwich to sign the towering centre back in the coming days.
It is reported that Ciani favours a switch to a Premier League side, which largely contributed to his decision to choose Stoke over the Championship outfit.
Ciani has made 41 appearances for Lazio since his move to the Serie A from French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux back in the summer of 2012.
We have to accept that we can’t compete with a mid-table Premier League side when it comes to making offers to players. No slight on our club, just simple economics.
