Norwich City’s Premier League status was confirmed for another season this afternoon following QPR’s capitulation against Chelsea.

The Canary’s 43 points looked likely to be more than enough heading into this weekend’s games, but the R’s 6-1 defeat against their West London rivals means Mark Hughes’ side can only reach 40 points.

Blackburn have a game in hand, but they too can only reach a maximum of 40 points.

Wigan, Bolton and Aston Villa could equal City’s total, but it looks as though the lowest position Paul Lambert’s men can finish is 14th in what has been a truly remarkable season.
