Norwich City have announced this afternoon that they will complete the signing of Kyle Lafferty on 1st July.
The 26 year old striker joins City after just one year at Serie B Champions Palermo, where he became something of a fan favourite scoring 11 goals in 34 appearances.
Lafferty told canaries.co.uk of his delight at becoming a City player.
“Norwich is a team that wants to get promoted back to the Premier League at the first opportunity, so I`m excited to come here and start playing football for a team like this,” he said.
“I`ve played in the Championship before and I`ve played against Norwich, and things I noticed about the club were the fans and the football they played.
“Speaking to the gaffer, everything he said and everything he wants me to do, it`s good to have someone like that believing in me. I can`t wait to get started.”
There’s been plenty of talk about Lafferty in the last 24 hours, with the Palermo President claiming that he is ‘an Irishman without rules’ and that he was ‘out of control.’
Whatever the truth is, we are about to find out. If he can continue in the vein of form he showed for Palermo then we could be onto something.
