Ian Culverhouse has been named as the new manager of Kings Lynn after the Linnets rather surprisingly sacked Gary Setchell.

Setchell was given his cards after the 0-0 draw with Cambridge City a result that leave Lynn 13th and 21 points behind the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division play-off places. It was also the last of a 7 match unbeaten run for Setchell.

52 year old Culverhouse has left the assistant manager’s role at Dagenham & Redbridge to join Lynn after previously having assisted Paul Lambert at Colchester, Norwich and then Aston Villa.

Both Culverhouse and Gary Karsa were sacked by Villa over a disciplinary matter in 2014 with the former City right back then returning to the game with Dagenham in January 2016.

Welcome back to Norfolk, Ian.
