Daniel Adshead has joined Norwich City, according to the Rochdale FC official website before even the Canaries themselves have had a chance to announce the lad.

This was a story that broke very quickly this afternoon and it now seems that Adshead has become City’s second signing of the summer after Patrick Roberts.
This is the wording of Rochdale’s website:
Rochdale AFC can confirm that Academy graduate Dan Adshead has completed a move to Premier League club Norwich City.
As ever, we’re talking about an undisclosed fee but journalist Pete O’Rourke reported that this was in the region of £300k.
Adshead is 17, soon to be 18 and has previously been scouted by the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and of course, the usual Premier League suspects.
Rochdale Manager Brian Barry-Murphy said: “For Dan to come right through our Academy system and progress into the first-team environment with us is superb for everyone connected with the Club and the Academy. The move is a reward for his hard work and amazing attitude during that time.
“It also represents an excellent deal for the Football Club. When a Club comes in for one of our players, they have to do so with an offer that reflects the qualities of that player, which is something Norwich have done with Dan.
“I’ve got to know Dan and his family over a period of time. They’re amazing people and its humbling to be connected to them. The way Dan approaches every challenge he faces is something everyone, including myself, can learn from.
“We’d like to wish Dan all the best for the future and will be keeping a keen eye on his progress at Norwich.”
Whether or not Dan will be part of the first team squad or not at Norwich is something that we just don’t know yet, until Norwich announce the deal.
At that age, he seems more likely to be part of the U23 set-up initially.
Welcome to Norwich, Dan!
