Norwich City’s rise to the top of the Championship table has left a lot of pundits scratching their heads as to how it has happened.
When you compare this season to last, plenty of professional observers have made comments like “They used to just pass the ball around” or “I didn’t think they were going anywhere under Daniel Farke.”
Comments like that have been well and truly dismissed by the advent of the Canaries’ irresistible Farkeball as it’s become known in these parts.
Beautiful passing football with a very real and dangerous goal threat on the end of it. That’s not the only story to it though. When not in possession, Norwich work hard to win it back and press their opponent. Two or more players will hunt the ball down until they have it back again and then look to work an opening and get the ball forwards, usually at serious pace.
Of course, if you don’t believe in facts and would rather concentrate on something a little more superstitious you could just look at the fact that Daniel Farke doesn’t even need his lucky green parka anymore…

Norwich City are irresistible right now – and the records continue to tumble.
The last time they scored four or more goals in three consecutive games was in March 1933. Just the 85 1/2 years… ✊#ncfc pic.twitter.com/6Bxxel1cT3

Miles to go. So many challenges to take on. Fortune will hit back at some point.
But I tell you what, this Norwich City group under Daniel Farke has it in them to be anything they want to be this season – including champions.
Be it form or class, long may it continue. #ncfc pic.twitter.com/1xWlGoIH5r

Norwich City have a staggering 31 points from their last 12 matches 👏
That's the same number of points they managed to pick up in the 26 games preceding this run 📈
(It's also the same number of points Ipswich Town have gained from their last 36 league fixtures…) 😲 #ncfc pic.twitter.com/vfFlJQhJiz

So I make that 11 goals & 4 assists in 17 games in all comps for #NCFC for Teemu Pukki so far this season.
Plus, 3 goals & 8 assists in 18 games in all comps for Buendia.
It's 43 goals in 22 games for the team overall.
Decent summer signings, you could say… #NCFC

Anyone up for some more Emi Buendia love? ❤️
He has now either scored or assisted a goal in each of Norwich City's last five league games.
To give that some context, even Wes 'The Irish Messi' Hoolahan could manage no more than a run of four in his ten years in yellow #ncfc pic.twitter.com/IsODGQU7NR

Emi Buendia, what a fantastic player.
Not just his technical quality, but his endeavour and physicality off the ball. He fills spaces defensively and never stops running.
He’s blossoming into one of the best players in the league. What’s more, he’s only 21. #ncfc

Stock photo above – green parka no longer required.
Good result for Norwich. Bit predictable always scoring four though, bit of variation would be nice… #ncfc
