Daniel Farke Named Manager Of The Month

|

Our worst fear has happened, Daniel Farke has been named the Sky Bet Championship manager of the month for November.

Having previously been nominated in September but having been beaten by West Brom’s Darren Moore on that occasion, it did seem to me as though there would be little chance of Daniel avoiding the supposed poisoned chalice that this award has often brought with it in the past.

Moore did stutter a little but has managed to recover with West Brom and he was also nominated this month, so maybe the “curse” isn’t too powerful (fingers crossed).

Three wins and a draw, scoring 12 goals along the way, in the month and taking his side to the top of the table meant that Farke was always in with a big shout.

As you can see from the picture above, poor old Daniel doesn’t look ecstatic at the presenting of the award, probably aware of the “curse” associated with this award!

Being serious for a minute though, this is a very good achievement for not just the gaffer but the whole squad and coaching staff. The fact that we are top of the league has been surprising to many pundits and quite a few of us fans too.

You don’t win anything in November (apart from manager of the month awards) and it’s still a long way to go until the real awards are handed out next May.

Christmas is coming and the festive period is going to be a crucial time for the club as we look to press on and keep up the recent excellent form. I noted yesterday that Sky’s predicts computer has Leeds topping the table after the festive matches but City would still be second under their assessment.

Do we believe that nonsense? Not a bit of it.

COME ON YOU YELLOWS (and well done, Daniel)

In case you were wondering what happened to Teemu Pukki in the player award, well, he didn’t win. That went to Tammy Abraham who scored six goals in November, to Teemu’s five.
