As we reported was likely last week, Roma striker Mattia Destro has decided to stay in Italy and join Bologna, despite interest in him from Norwich City.
Destro had said earlier this summer that he would prefer to stay in Italy rather than move abroad and reports from Italy last week, previously reported on Vital Norwich had him joining Bologna.
This morning, The Times of all papers suggested that Destro was close to joining Norwich, thereby lifting the Norwich Twitter community to DefCon 2, however the player has now confirmed on Twitter that he is joining Bologna.
Destro is reported to be moving initially for a loan fee of one million euros (around £700,000), with Bologna contracted to make the deal permanent in 12 months’ time by paying a further nine million euros (£6.3million).
‘Today my new adventure begins at Bologna,’ said Destro on Twitter..
‘I will give it my all to repay your faith! I’m comiiiiiing! #weareone #goals #assists ‘
