Dorrans Asking Price Has Been Met

Glasgow Rangers have met the Canaries` asking price for Graham Dorrans but are yet to be given permission to speak to him, according to the Express

Dorrans has been the subject of several bids from the Glasgow giants this summer with the Express now reporting that Rangers have met the asking price of £1.5m plus add-ons.

Whether this is true or not is a moot point because the Express also report that last week, Rangers made a £1.3m + offer for Dorrans that was rejected.

The EDP`s Paddy Davitt dismissed that widely reported media story as being just that. With his inside and local knowledge, Paddy wrote that the bid was actually just under £500k and described it as “derisory.”

This story suggests that Rangers are hoping for a breakthrough in what has become a bone fide “saga”, in the coming week. However, it seems to me that City are clearly willing to do business but Rangers must show them the money.

It was also reported last Thursday that there was a twist to this tale, with City taking an interest in Rangers` 18 year old midfielder, Jamie Barjonas. If that is accurate then some sort of part exchange deal plus cash could be the order of the day.
