Ducksch Says He Wants To Leave St. Pauli

|

Yesterday, we had some news via an EDP exclusive about a Norwich City transfer target in the form of Marvin Ducksch, a product of the Borussia Dortmund academy and a player who has gone on something of a goalscoring spree this last season.

Ducksch scored 18 goals in 33 appearances for his loan club, Holstein Kiel and that helped take them to third, narrowly missing out on promotion to the Bundesliga. Holstein Kiel lost a two legged relegation/promotion play-off with Wolfsburg and that means Ducksch will now return to his parent club, St. Pauli.

St. Pauli finished 12th in Bundesliga 2 but Ducksch, perhaps sensing his current worth, has decided he wants a move and he’s looking at the Bundesliga.

Norwich City have been linked with Ducksch this week and Leeds United have a previous link to the 24-year-old but where he ends up next is up for grabs, it seems.

Here’s a quote from Ducksch reported by insidefutbol.com.

“Everyone would understand why it would not work with me at Kiel”, the 24-year-old told Sky Deutschland.

“But we will sit down and discuss a solution.

“My goal is to play in the Bundesliga and if there is a possibility, I will not say no.”

German football doesn’t pay as well as English football though, so you never know and if he gets on with Daniel Farke then it could still be a goer. Realistically, he is not getting a move to Bayern Munich, Red Bull Leipzig or back to Dortmund, so it would surely only be a lower level Bundesliga club that wants him.

We’ll see…
