Norwich City winger, Elliot Bennett has donated £2800 to services charities after he tweeted his intentions on social network, twitter.
Benno posted a tweet on his @Ebenno88 account saying: “For Remembrance Sunday I will donate 11p for every retweet of this to @HelpforHeroes until 11am when we remember our heroes.”
By 11 o’clock, some 24,800 people had retweeted the message, which meant that Elliot donated £2,800. He split his donation between Help For Heroes and the Royal British Legion.
In a world of cynicism surrounding football and their huge wages, this is a good news story from one of our own.
Top work Benno – you’re a legend.
