Swedish Striker, Johan Elmander is tonight on the verge of joining Norwich City.
The 32 year old travelled to Norwich on Tuesday to discuss a move to the canaries.
“Norwich City have every moment to make a deal but anything can still happen,” said Elmander. “I will never forget the Galatasaray supporters. The Galatasaray days I have spent have been wonderful and perfect whenever I put on a team shirt.”
“I can confirm Johan`s move to England,” Galatasaray technical director Bulent Tulun is reported as telling Swedish paper SportExpressen.se “We agreed with Johan, his new club Norwich and his agent Anders (Wallsten). We wish Johan the best of luck in the future.”
Elmander scored 18 goals in 92 Premier League appearances for Bolton between 2008-11, while also notching 19 goals in 71 caps for Sweden.
Although not exactly prolific, Elmander is a decent target man and scored 10 goals in his last season with Bolton.
Meanwhile, several tabloids are tonight reporting that Fabio Quagliarella has agreed terms with West Ham although the two clubs have yet to agree a fee(?)
FQ has been a City target for most of the summer and the EDP suggest that even with the imminent signing of Elmander, City’s interest in Quagliarella may not be over just yet.
