Here we go, James Maddison is “being tracked” by Everton according to ESPN FC

ESPN FC cite “sources close to the Championship club” for the report. Maddison, 20, has been in exceptional form for Norwich this season, his first at Championship level.

He is currently away with the England U21 squad, his first call up after a whirlwind start to the season under Daniel Farke. The City Head Coach has given Madders the stage to perform and in the absence of the injured Alex Pritchard, he has stepped up with four goals and five assists in 17 games so far.

Everton`s director of football, Steve Walsh reportedly watched Maddison in Saturday`s 2-1 reverse at Bolton. The former Coventry midfielder is under contract at Carrow Road until 2021, which means that City will be in the driving seat as far as any potential sale goes. I think it`s fair to say that he has been our biggest threat in recent weeks and the brightest star in an otherwise slightly underwhelming start to the Canaries` season.

The likelihood of a sale will increase if Norwich fail to achieve promotion this season and I suspect that promotion would be the only thing that can keep him with us. In the current market, he would be worth a hefty fee when you consider his length of contract, age and potential, not to mention his achievements on the pitch.
