Farke Gives Update On Influential Norwich Midfielder

|

Influential midfielder, Moritz Leitner could be back for the weekend Daniel Farke told the EDP after Tuesday evening’s 0-0 draw with Hull City.

Leitner has been little short of sensational in the role of midfield playmaker alongside Alex Tettey in the Canaries’ engine room this season but missed the trip to Hull through a calf injury.

Daniel Farke opted to rest Mo and replace him with Tom Trybull, who has had to wait patiently for a chance due to Leitner’s form. Super Tom isn’t as forward thinking as Mo but he isn’t a bad replacement, is he?

“We tried everything in the morning. He (Leitner) joined us for a light session,” said Farke.

“The risk was too big. He still felt a tight calf and then we decided to send him back to Norwich. He has had a scan this evening and we are now waiting for the results. I don’t think it is a major problem but we can’t risk a muscle fibre crack and he is out for four or five weeks. In this period we have the festive period of eight or nine games.

“He is crucial for us. We hope to have him back for Saturday. We hope not taking the risk was good.”

Fingers crossed that Mo can make it back for the visit of Rotherham on Saturday.
