Norwich City will announce their seventh signing of the summer today, it was revealed last night.

This came from Stuart Webber, who participated in a packed fans’ forum last night and let everyone know that today a new signing would be unveiled and that we should all keep checking Canaries.co.uk, ‘Every ten minutes and maybe buy something while you’re there,’ he quipped.

He wouldn’t give any more away than that.

After the forum, the name Marcel Franke was reported as being about to sign by The EDP

Marcel Franke is a centre back who plays for Gruether Furth in the German second tier and had a successful season playing as a regular starter. Standing at 6″4 he seems a powerful classic CB at first glance with a similar build to Christoph Zimmermann. From what I have gathered he has all the traits to be extremely successful at a higher level, decent composure and technique. He Is also very good in the air, so he seems the real deal.

At 24 years old he also has bags of potential. If confirmed, I personally believe this would be a real coup and could potentially be one of our best signing of the summer.

  • Hope this is true.
The defence is priority and he seems to be an ideal championship CB.

  • When my lad went up for an autograph, he asked who we were signing, Farke said he’d tell him later “over cheesecake” and that there were too many people around. He did smile when another chap asked if it was a defender, so sounds likely.
