Pretty slim pickings on the transfer news front today (it’s almost as though people’s minds are elsewhere), but there are a couple of little possibilities doing the rounds.

One is that Oli Johnson, he of sit-on-the-bench-and-occasionally-get-five-minutes fame, is a loan target for Sheffield Wednesday.

Rochdale and Hartlepool are also said to be interested in the 23-year-old former Stockport striker, who currently appears to be fifth in the Carrow Road pecking order behind Grant Holt, Chris Martin, Simeon Jackson and Aaron Wilbraham.

Johnson was linked with a loan move to Brighton last month, and would almost certainly benefit from some first team football.

If Oli is heading out towards the Colney gates, he may need to be careful not to run into Nathan Ellington.

The 29-year-old former Wigan and West Brom striker has recently returned to Watford following a year on loan with Greek side SKoda Xanthi, and the Hornets are said to want shot of a man they paid £3.25m for in August 2007.
