Canary chief Paul Lambert couldn’t hide his delight after seeing his side beat Brentford 1-0 at Carrow Road this afternoon.

With Grant Holt sent off shortly before half-time the temptation for Lambert must have been to tighten up and hold on for a draw, but he instead went three at the back and all out for the win which took the Yellows top of the table.

‘I thought they were brilliant to do it with 10-men, the way we did it, and everything that was going against us I thought we were exceptional,’ Lambert told BBC Radio Norfolk after the game.

‘We had to go for it, it would have been easy just to try and consolidate but we had to go and try and get the win.

‘I think whether you’re top of the table or mid-table, at this club the pressure is always there, so it doesn’t really change anything for me, but you could hear this place was absolutely rocking.’
