Paul Lambert has heaped praise on City’s goalscoring hero Grant Holt.

The 28-year-old summer signing from Shrewsbury hit a brace in yesterday’s 3-1 win at Stockport, taking his goal tally to twelve for the season in all competitions already.

The former Nottingham Forest and Rochdale striker is now the joint-second top scorer in the division, and speaking to the club’s official website yesterday Lambert said:

‘He’s terrific, really terrific, he’s been doing it every week with the same excellent performance level and he’s got two more good goals today.

‘It’s great for him and the whole team and it’s great for the large number of fans that made the long trip to get behind us today.’
