The Tuckster with news of the permanent signing of Javier Garrido…

Norwich City have announced late this afternoon that they have completed the permanent signing of Javier Garrido on a two year deal for the usual undisclosed fee with the option of a third year.

28 year old Garrido has proved that he is a very good player during his loan spell from Lazio and has made 34 appearances in his debut season.

‘I’m delighted to have secured the services of Javi on a permanent basis,’ said Canaries boss Hughton.
‘He has played 34 games for us this season and the fact we’ve signed him is a testament to the contribution he has made since joining us last summer.’

I’m so happy to have signed full time for Norwich City,’ the Spaniard, who played at the Etihad between 2007 and 2010, told the club website. ‘I am very comfortable with everything here – the players, the technical staff and the fans – and am very happy we managed to remain in the Premier League where we belong.’

I suspect that the issue of a permanent transfer rested on City maintaining their Premier League staus and it’s probably no coincidence that this deal has been confirmed just two days after this happened.

Javi is a good defender with a beautiful left foot, he may not be the quickest but his positional sense and ability to get forward and put quality crosses into the box have made up for that.

I’ve actually met Javi and he is a top bloke, I think this is a good signing, here’s to this being the first of many.
