Sheffield Wednesday are prepared to spend big to sign Gary Hooper on loan, report The Sun.
The report claims the Owls will pay Norwich City a £500,000 loan fee, and cover all of his £32,000 per week wages.
The former Celtic striker has experience playing in the Championship, making 16 starts for Norwich last season.
He also made 16 appearances off the bench, scoring 12 goals in total and providing six assists but has played for a total of just 10 minutes so far, this season.
The talk of whether Hooper will stay or go has rumbled on all summer but will seemingly depend on whether City can sign someone who is that much better than we already have. Alex Neil said yesterday that there haven’t been any enquiries for Hooper and he has also said that Hooper and RvW are part of his squad and part of his plans.
There’s no smoke without fire though and it’s perfectly possible that Wednesday do want him, why wouldn’t they!?
With just ten days to go in the transfer window, I only see Hooper moving on if a new goal scoring, superstar hero comes through the door.
