The national media continue to link Norwich City with a move for Crystal Palace striker, Dwight Gayle.
The latest of these stories comes from the Daily Mail and it suggests that City and QPR both want the former Peterborough man, who has just 4 goals this season, albeit in only 7 appearances.
Gayle has struggled with injury since December 7th when he picked up an injury in Palace’s 1-1 draw with Everton. He is reportedly approaching full fitness again though and as he was a late target for Norwich in the summer window, it’s an easy link to make.
£8m is the figure being quoted with QPR only being interested in a loan move and Palace not keen on anything but a permanent move.
Speaking earlier in the month, Alan Pardew said he wasn’t expecting to sell any of his first team squad but conceded it could happen.
‘The fact of it is that we are pretty confident that we will keep all of our best players here. One or two players who are not playing may move on if the bid is right, for sure.’
This story is a continual feature of the gossip columns at the moment, makes me think there’s probably something in it.
