Norwich City’s new striker, Lewis Grabban has been talking to the Bournemouth Daily Echo about why he chose to move to Carrow Road and it seems it’s all about ambition.

Grabban told the Daily Echo: “When I listened to the manager`s philosophy on attacking football, it was a similar to the philosophy at Bournemouth.

‘It`s important when a settled player moves on that they don`t go into a team that uses a completely different style, because it just might not work.

“I think Eddie Howe is getting it right and the manager at Norwich has similar philosophies – he wants to play attacking, passing football and dominate possession.

“I liked that aspect of what he wanted to do and the club`s ambitions matched my ambitions to get to the Premier League.

“Bournemouth have got a good chance of getting there, but I do feel that Norwich have a lot of Premier League experience and also experience of getting to the Premier League, so maybe they might edge it on that.

“The opportunity to go to a club of that size was one I didn`t want to turn down.”

Grabban turned down a £1m+ move to Brighton in January before then signing a new three and a half year contract which maximised his value for The Cherries should they need to sell.

That contract contained a £3m release clause which City activated last week. Grabban says that he will always be grateful to Bournemouth and enjoyed his time there.

“I enjoyed every moment of my time at Bournemouth. It was a good time in their history and I was glad to be a part of their accomplishments.

“There were a lot of highlights. Winning promotion was special as was setting a club record for the highest second-tier finish.

“Early on last season we got beaten quite heavily by a few teams but by the time we played them for the second time, we were much better.

“The improvement the squad made was a highlight and the general journey over the last two years was great to be a part of.”

Nice to hear the comments about an attacking philosophy as well as the club matching his ambition. Look forward to seeing you in action, Lewis.
