According to Sun journalist, Charlie Wyatt, Lewis Grabban has been fined and suspended by Norwich City after apparently going AWOL in protest at not being allowed to join Bournemouth.

Grabban has been the subject of three bids from the Cherries, all of which have been rejected and failed to appear for the team meeting yesterday at 4.15pm, as reported by The Daily Mail.

Various media reports suggested he was due for talks with Alex Neil and club officials this afternoon and Charlie Wyatt is reporting the outcome as a fine and suspension.

This is a big mess and if what is being reported is true, then Grabban has let himself down professionally. There has been no official announcement from the Canaries but if this is true, you can expect something soon.

With reports on Twitter suggesting Gary Hooper is due to be announced as joining Sheffield Wednesday on loan imminently, that leaves the prospect of Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Kyle Lafferty as being back up to Cameron Jerome for Sunday’s trip to Southampton.

A week ago, none of us could’ve imaged that.
