Angus Gunn and James Maddison have both been called up to the England U21 squad for the upcoming U21 European Qualifier against Ukraine on Friday November 10th.
Angus Gunn is of course a regular in the U21 squad but this call up marks the first time that James Maddison has been called upon by his country.
Maddison`s form for Norwich has been nothing short of sensational since he started playing regularly this season and he has been the difference for City many times. Against Wolves he was almost our only real attacking threat.
I am in two minds about the call up though. It`s brilliant news for the lad and he more than deserves this recognition – however, it means he`s being noticed and we simply can not afford to lose him.
City are in a financial position where every player is effectively for sale and we surely couldn`t withstand a massive bid for this or any other player.
I suppose on the flip side of that coin is the fact that any offer from a Premier League club would have to be massive, based upon how he is playing and progressing.
Well done lads, go and tear it up.
