Grant Holt will miss three League One games thanks to the red card he received against Brentford at the weekend.

The City striker and captain was given his marching orders for a less than pretty tackle on Toumani Diagouraga, and will be absent from tomorrow night’s visit to Walsall, Saturday’s home game against Hartlepool and the trip to Millwall on 6th February.

Holt is the division’s top scorer with 23 goals in all competitions, but with Chris Martin and Wes Hoolahan contributing an additional 30 goals between them, his absence shouldn’t be as big a drama as you would maybe expect.

So with that in mind in the latest poll we are asking who you think should step in to fill the horse’s shoes whilst he is re-shoed?

Recent signing Oli Johnson looks the most likely bet, especially after his well taken goal against Colchester and his assist against the Bees on Saturday, but Cody McDonald is also crying out for a chance to impress. And what about forgotten man Jamie Cureton?

We want to know what YOU think. Have your say by voting in the poll, leaving a comment below, or discuss this article in the forum.
