Savvy talks to Vital Baggies…

What do you think of Chris Hughton?
I think he’s very underrated by many to be fair, and was treated diabolically by Newcastle, so for me it’s no surprise to see him back in the Premiership with you and doing well. His name was mooted for us before we moved for Steve Clarke and many, including myself, wouldn’t have been against the appointment. I imagine over time Hughton will more than turn you into a Premiership stable club and probably push you further up the league from there.

What’s the secret to Steve Clarke’s excellent start?
He’s been sensible enough to not come in and change what we were good at under Hodgson. He’s built on our defensive strength, but opened us up a touch more in our attack which has been reflected by the run we were on before hitting our sticky patch in the last few games. Taking the time to tweak things, and alter our play bit by bit was definitely the right thing for us.

Who are your dangermen?
Odemwingie, Long and Lukaku depending on who starts. With the likes of Morrison, Brunt and Gera feeding through from midfield, when we are on song we are very dangerous.

Which of our players are you worried about?
Holt mainly for me. Just such a handful, but has good feet as well.

Where will you finish?
Top 8 is a real possibility if we can get ourselves on another decent run. Anything more than that would be a dream, but I came into the season hoping we would finish within a place or two of last season, so we are looking good to meet and beat my hope.

Where do you think we will finish?
If you can maintain the form you’ve been showing of late, and deal well with any dip that does come, I can see you easily finishing in the top 10.

Prediction for the game?
2-2 for me. With your form, and our performances starting to come back, I think it’ll be quite an open game but I can’t see a clear winner.
