A few days ago speculation surfaced after Entracht Braunschweig winger Onel Hernandez had been photographed having dinner with Daniel Farke in Norwich.

Seems pretty obvious to me that this wasn`t just two old chaps going out for dinner, especially with no professional connection between both of them.

But yesterday Braunschweig`s sporting director Marc Arnold gave an interview to Liga-zwei.de about speculation surrounding a possible move for the Cuban-German midfielder:

Onel Hernandez, who was in England at Christmas, was photographed with Daniel Farke, but says Arnold, he`s not a candidate for a move.

According to Arnold it was a private visit and not contract negotiations, and unless the sporting director of his parent club has been kept completely in the dark, the move doesn’t seem imminent.

He further said: ‘Onel still has a long-term contract with us, and there are no considerations on our part to surrender him. We also received no request”

So that puts the rumours to sleep for now, although there is still a high degree of mystery about his visit to Norwich.

There must be more to this but with Hernandez on a long term contract, unless we suddenly find some money down the back of the sofa (or sell Steven Naismith), it might not be in this transfer window.
