Matt Jarvis says that it’s crunch time for Norwich City as they face Sunderland at Carrow Road on Saturday.
The City winger was part of the side beaten 0-1 by Crystal Palace at the weekend and with the bottom three all losing, it was a big chance for the Canaries to increase the gap between them and Sunderland – a chance they didn’t take.
This is what Jarvis thinks about the upcoming game.
‘Each game gets bigger and bigger, so it’s massive,’ Jarvis said. ‘That’s what happens at this time of the year. Being at home, we know if we’re able to get the win it would give us a big jump.
‘We really wanted to take something from (Palace) but have to ensure our home form continues. That starts with getting a good result on Saturday.’
Jarvis was at the centre of a penalty appeal in the first half at Selhurst Park, an appeal that referee, Michael Oliver simply waved away before Jason Puncheon settled the game with a 68th minute 20 yarder.
‘We’re really disappointed as we felt we deserved at least a point,’ Jarvis added.
‘There weren’t many chances in the game and I think a 0-0 draw would have been a fair result.
‘The goal was a great finish but generally we defended well.
‘We got into the right positions but couldn’t test the goalkeeper enough.
‘Ultimately we’ve paid the price for that so we need to make sure we bounce back.’
