As expected Jake Kean has signed for Norwich City on a two year deal.

Kean was released from his contact last week and it was only a matter of time before he joined up with the Canaries. Alex Neil has suggested he will be 3rd choice behind Rudd but that he expects both keepers to be competitive for the first team jersey.

In real terms no one is expecting Kean to be anything but Ruddy’s understudy and we’ll know more when we see the bench on Saturday.

Kean said on the club site: ‘This is a massive opportunity for me. I had other offers, but as soon as I knew Norwich were interested, I could have just switched off my phone because I wasn’t going to entertain anything else. A couple of years ago I was flying high but unfortunately my knee injury has made it quite a difficult road to get back to where I was.

‘I feel that with the support Alex Neil and Dean Kiely have shown me here already, I’m not going to be far away from getting back to that level.’

We wish him well.
