Lambert Accepts FA Charge But Talks Of Underhand Stuff

|

Paul Lambert has accepted an FA misconduct charge regarding his behaviour in the East Anglian Derby at Carrow Road last Sunday.

The Ipswich Town Manager was red carded by the referee just before half-time for his part in a melee between both sets of the coaching staff that also saw Norwich Head of Performance, Chris Domogalla sent to the stands.

Lambert had until 6 pm on Friday to either accept the charge or appeal but he has decided not to appeal as reported on his club’s official website.

“I will accept what is coming my way but there was a lot of stuff that was going on underhand that was wrong” said Lambert.

“I am not going to win an appeal so I won’t be going down that route but I have had my say to the FA,” he told the Ipswich Town website.

“I stand by what I have said. I stand by exactly what went on. I will accept what is coming my way – whatever that is – but there was a lot of stuff that was going on underhand that was wrong and that’s what I have explained to the FA.”

Ipswich are also questioning the role of Norwich club stewards in the incident and also moaning about the fact that it took their club coach 28 minutes to do a 10 minute journey to the ground with a Police escort.

Presumably, Norfolk Constabulary are against them as well then?

A mate of mine is a Police Officer who was stationed outside the ground and told me he was moaned at by one of the Ipswich coaching staff for the delay when they got off their coach at Carrow Road, as if it was his fault!
