City boss Paul Lambert has been named Coca-Cola League 1 Manager of the Month for December.

The Canaries won four and drew one of their five league games to finish the year breathing down Charlton’s neck as the fight for the second automatic promotion place in League One intensified.

Speaking to the official site, Lambert said:

‘I am delighted with everyone connected with the football club. I think you only get awards when other people are doing well for you. The group of lads who are playing week in, week out have been terrific.

‘I think they are playing with a lot of confidence at the minute and the crowd have galvanised us. They have come in their droves, home and away, and that is massive help to those on the pitch. The lads deserve credit, though, for what they have done.

‘I think the most important people at any club are the players and fans, and I still think that. We need other people to drive us on.

‘To be fair, the lads are playing with great enthusiasm for the game and are getting great results. But the crowd have played a big part.’
