Reports today are linking City with Spurs’ Jake Livermore and Kyle Naughton…

Reports in London this morning are heavily linking Norwich City with a double swoop for Spurs` players Jake Livermore and Kyle Naughton.

It is suggested that both players would be coming in on a loan basis and that their parent club would be keen as they look to strengthen their squad and give fringe players a chance to gain further top flight experience.

Livermore played 19 times in the Tottenham midfield last term and would certainly be a decent acquisition.

Kyle Naughton meanwhile, needs no introduction to the City faithful and made 26 appearances for Spurs, mostly as a left back last season.

I don`t know if a deal to buy either or both players is available but particularly when talking about Naughton he is someone that I would have back at Carrow Road in a heartbeat. He can play as either right (his preferred position) or left back and was impressive for the most part when on a previous loan spell in our first season back in the top flight under Paul Lambert. The reports also suggest that Naughton would be keen on a return to Norfolk.

So, Jake Livermore and Kyle Naughton. Your thoughts?

  • Win win for both of our clubs I would say. You get proven premiership players and we get two of our players getting regular first team action. I feel a bit sorry for Kyle as he has been shoehorned into the left back role, where he is obviously not comfortable. I’d rather him get playing time at his favoured position of right back. Jake is a good pro and would certainly be a good aquisition for your midfield. Lets hope this happens for both clubs.

  • Can’t see the point in loan deals for the two players mentioned, they will not make it at Spurs and need to be sold. Naughton did well at right back when he was last on loan at Norwich and Livermore would make a good addition to the Norwich team in a holding midfield role.

  • You Spurs boys are really down on Naughton, aren’t you? He mostly played at right back when he was here before and he honestly did okay. I know he’s not going to get a chance at RB at the Lane with Walker ahead of him but was he really that bad for Spurs last season? I would def take him again.

  • cant see kyle naughton coming back as have to good rb’s in russell martin and Steve Whittaker
