Maddison Chooses Leicester And Is Set For Medical

|

James Maddison has decided to join Leicester City rather than Southampton according to Sky Sports.

Last night we had the news that both Premier League clubs had had large offers, reported to be in the region of £24m, accepted by Norwich and that the player would now be given permission to speak to both clubs and then decide where he wanted to go.

It seems that there has been plenty of interest from other clubs, most notably Everton but that only Leicester and Southampton made firm offers for a player who was the standout man at Carrow Road last season.

All that remains now, it seems is for the 21 year old to travel to the Midlands, if he wasn’t there already, and to have a medical. Despite being currently out injured with knee ligament damage, Madders has been posting videos of him on his Instagram page in recent days, showing that he’s working hard to return to full fitness. By the look of these videos, he’s not far away either.

As I’ve written before, I’m quite relaxed about what has been an inevitable transfer and I am just looking forward to the club getting on with the summer recruitment process.

I’m expecting that there will be a formal announcement from the Foxes at some point in the next 24 hours or so. I’ll keep you updated as to when the announcement is made.
