Norwich City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by James Maddison in the two one victory over Reading at the weekend at the Madejski Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Maddison was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Maddison got things started in Norwich`s Saturday evening trip to Reading, firing home a stunning free-kick which was awarded the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Weekend. And it was the midfielder`s delivery which unlocked the Royals again, curling in a corner for Cameron Jerome to head home the game`s winning goal.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Maddison for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Mark Oxley (Southend United), Ethan Ebanks-Landell (MK Dons), Matt Preston (Swindon Town), Nathaniel Knight-Percival (Bradford City), Kamil Grosicki (Hull City), Tariqe Fosu (Charlton Athletic), Jack Payne (Oxford United), James Maddison (Norwich City), Ivan Cavaleiro (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Danny Rose (Mansfield Town), Jayden Stockley (Exeter City).

Manager – Leonid Slutsky (Hull City).
