After the news this lunchtime that Leeds United have today received a £5m bid for their striker, Ross McCormack it seems that a couple of the clubs believed to be interested in him have not made the bid.

The local press in Derby have confirmed that The Rams are not the bidding club while Phil Hay of The Yorkshire Evening Post has confirmed that Cardiff City haven’t bid either.

It is being reported that the bid is from another Championship club but in the second tier, £5m is a lot of money. The number of clubs that could finance such a transfer fee followed by the inevitable wage demands isn’t actually that big and would almost certainly mean that the bidding club would need to have been in The Premier League recently.

That of course includes Norwich and Fulham.
