Millwall Struggling With Defensive Problems Ahead Of Norwich Clash

|

Millwall are struggling with defensive injuries ahead of tomorrow’s game at the New Den against league leaders, Norwich City.

It is not inconceivable that Neil Harris could be without four full backs for what is another crucial game at both ends of the table. Whilst Norwich look to take another step closer to the Premier League, the Lions are involved at the opposite end of the table in a relegation scrap.

Murray Wallace was forced off in mid-week during the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Hull City. Wallace has been a regular starter at left back in recent weeks, scoring goals in the FA Cup against both Everton and Wimbledon but he seems certain to miss this one with ankle and knee problems.

Conor McLaughlin and Tom Bradshaw are definitely out but James Meredith has a chance of being fit, which would soften that blow a little following a month out with a calf problem. Mahlon Romeo has been ill of late, missing the Hull trip and could be a late call if he recovers.

The Lions currently sit in 20th place, just four points off the bottom three on 34 points with both Reading and Rotherham below them on 30 points.

Millwall have lost three of the last five, drawn one and won one (against Derby) and generally don’t concede too many goals, they are also very handy from set-pieces, providing a unique test for a Norwich side who concede a few aerial goals.
