Josh Murphy completed his move to Cardiff City on Tuesday, almost bringing us to the end of an era.
Only Carlton Morris remains on the Canaries’ books from the 2013 FA Youth Cup squad. Both Josh and his brother Jacob, were hugely influential in that competition, with Josh arguably the standout player in yellow and green.
On the day that Carlton Morris announced on social media that his ACL knee reconstruction had gone well and Harry Toffolo, another FA Youth Cup winner, signed for Lincoln City, Murphy moved to Cardiff.
ACL reconstruction ? Competed it mate 😜 thanks for the messages, hard work starts now 💪🏽🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/62ChfMOwRm

Of course, footballers communicate via social media these days and Josh is no different. He’s a big user of Twitter and Instagram and used his Twitter account to send a message of thanks to Norwich City and the club’s fans.
“After spending half of my life at Norwich with some great memories it’s time for me to move,” he tweeted on his official account on Tuesday evening. “I’d like to say a big thank you to Delia, Michael and Ettie for the unconditional love and support for the last 12 years.
“Of course a huge thanks to all the fans who have supported me and I really wish you all the best for next season.
“Lastly thanks to the boss and all the staff. Most importantly my team mates past and present who I have shared the journey with. Will miss you all.”
