At his pre-Rotherham press conference, Alex Neil was asked about the reports that Bournemouth had bid for their former striker, Lewis Grabban and confirmed what Sky Sports had announced yesterday.
‘Yes, we’ve had a few bids for Lewis but they have been rejected,’ Neil told the assembled media.
‘Bournemouth have come in with two separate bids and they have both been rejected.
‘Lewis is an important part of the squad. Lewis is a clever boy and he can see how much he has featured under me since I have been here and he is a big part of our plans.
‘I certainly won’t be giving players to direct rivals. That is the bottom line.’
Eddie Howe needs another striker to back up/support Callum Wilson and has also previously bid for Glenn Murray but Alex Neil is right on the money here. Sell Grabban to The Cherries and you risk helping them to stay up, the last thing we should be doing is helping them.
