Alex Neil flew to Marseille on Sunday with Chief Exec, David McNally by private jet to watch Marseille thump Troyes 6-0, according to various reports on social media on Monday.
I need a little more than that really to justify a story, something with a little more substance because you can’t believe everything you read on Twitter!
The Sun (so we have a little more substance now) are reporting today that Neil was watching Marseille’s Cameroon International, Nicolas Nkoulou.
The 25yr old central defender joined the Ligue 1 club in 2011 and has made 130 appearances, scoring 5 goals. He also has 63 caps for Cameroon and has played alongside Seb Bassong before.
He is quick and strong in the tackle but at 5’11’ isn’t a monster of a man. My internet research makes me think though, that he would be a very decent acquisition, having been voted into the Ligue 1 team of the year in 2012 and 2013.
